FG College Times: ‘Waterdeep Dragon Heist’ to be released on September 18

For those RPG fans that have been itching to play a new 5E D&D campaign, Wizards of the Coast is set to release their latest adventure, “Waterdeep Dragon Heist” on September 18. The hardback version of the adventure will be available in the DnD Store on that day, and the Fantasy Grounds module will be available in the Fantasy Grounds Store and on Steam on September 7.

Waterdeep Dragon Heist” is a romp throughout the city of Waterdeep as you try to uncover a villainous plot which

What I find really interesting about the plot, is that it is up to the DM to decide which storyline to use, so this campaign could be run four separate times with different events and endings. In addition, each of the villains exist during a certain time of the year.

Another thing that is different in this campaign compared to some others which take place outside a big city, is that players will find that they will need to roleplay a lot more than maybe they have done in other campaigns. In the city of Waterdeep, you can’t just pick a fight and get away with it. There are consequences to your actions. Someone will call the town guards, and you may find yourself in jail, so it may be especially hard for say, a barbarian to get positive results with his or her actions when they may have to be a little more subtle in what they do.

DND Beyond has posted a video speaking with Chris Perkins (Principal story designer, Dungeons and Dragons) and Mike Mearls (Creative director, Dungeons & Dragons). Click on the video link below to listen to what they have to say about the project.
