‘D&D Essentials’ coming exclusively to Target on June 24, 2019

A second D&D5e Starter set will come out on June 24, 2019. “D&D Essentials” will be arriving at North American Target stores on June 24, 2019, with a release date of September 3, 2019 everywhere else.

The boxed set is more than just a second starter set, however. It features a newly designed rulebook to teach players who may never have played D&D before how to make characters, and join their first campaign, a 64-page starter adventure written by Chris Perkins entitled “Dragon of Ice Spire Peak.“

The story will take players from level 1 through level 6, and includes a new “1-on 1 rules variant” which allows a single player and DM to play the adventure together, using the “Sidekick” rule from Unearthed Arcana.
